Beading & Jewellery - Learn how simple beading can be. Use traditional methods involving thread & beads or more contemporary bead stringing materials & memory wire. Whatever medium you use will produce a piece of work that reflects your individuality. Word of warning - beading can become addictive! Tiara Making - Want to make a tiara but don't want to go down the wirework path? Machine embroidery can be used to create stunning effects, highlighted with crystals or chatons. Sewing machine with dog feed that can be dropped & experience of free machine embroidery required. Felt Making - Learn the popular craft of felt making. This workshop sets out the basics of how to transform fleece into your own unique piece of hand-made felt. This course is for anyone who has never felted before. Paper Making - Put some of your rubbish to good use, recycle envelopes, newspapers & bags to make unique handmade paper. Add a few embellishments for your own work of art! This workshop is aimed at new-comers to paper making Ribbon Embroidery - Floral ribbon-work can be used for cards, ring cushions, boxes, pictures, wedding & birth samplers to name but a few. Use silk ribbon for a real touch of luxury. Only a few basic stitches are required to produce stunning results Silk Painting - An introduction to silk painting for complete beginners, learn basic techniques in a relaxed atmosphere. At the end of the day you will take home at least one finished piece which you will have produced during the workshop Textile Excavations - Make your own piece of beautiful textured material from humble poly-cotton. Use readily available traditional & modern materials & equipment & some surprising inclusions, to discover your artistic talent. This is a particularly good technique if you find abstract designs difficult to create.
